How Do I Start With Voiceguide Application?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I´m starting using your product and I have some questions about how to start using it.

I had downloaded VoiceGuide 5.2.5049 for your link. I work under Windows XP with an external Voice Modem.

I had selected this modem as the device I want to use with VoiceGuide and had selected one of the sample script you supply. When I run the application I can see the state of the line device is always "Waiting for a call...".

Here are my questions: If I phone that line device, it must changes that state and starts to run the assigned scritp? or are there other previous steps to follow?

I do that but the state never change, I don´t hear anything on the phone and the event trace log doesn´t show anything. What´s happen? Could it be a modem problem?

Thanks for your attention.

Correct.

You don’t hear anything on the phone? Don't you hear the other end ringing? If you do not hear the other end ringing then the phone company is not delivering the call correctly. To test the phone line just plug the line that's attached to the modem into a telephone handset and see if you can place the call to the attached phone. Once you verified line is OK then plug the line into modem and you should see the modem answer the call.

Once you hear the sound quality that the modem has, chances are you will be looking to move to a Dialogic card...

Thanks for the quick response.

I checked my line and it´s ok so I supposed the problem was in the modem, so I try with a new one, in this case and internal modem.

Now when I run my script and phone to the line, after two tones VG finish the connection. I look for this problem in this forum and I think it could be a problem on the modem driver. Could you confirm it to me?

I see in wgm file some errors like:

ERROR 5.2.5049 MemStructVgm_ClearVgm err[No coinciden los tipos] line=540

What are they? Have they something to do with modem driver?

I attach the wgm file generated.

Again, thanks a lot.

The trace shows that the modem is returning an error when incoming call is answered:

110523.80 0 lineAnswer(66167) => 66150

110523.81 0 tapi callstate ACCEPTED 66167 0 0

110524.39 0 tapi Reply (LineEvReply) err 66150 LINEERR_OPERATIONFAILED [80000048] LineCallState=ACCEPTED

This is a modem and/or driver problem. Your only option here is to try another modem...

The message "ERROR 5.2.5049 MemStructVgm_ClearVgm err[No coinciden los tipos] line=540" is not affecting anything to do with call answer. It is not really an error - more of an informational message that happens when a non-US/English version of Windows is used. It will be fixed in future so that this message does get reported in the error set and does not alarm users as it seems to now.
